What are you doing tomorrow? 💌
Come join me at FUTURE MOOD for an afternoon of movement, meditation & momentum.
Good morning & happy Saturday!
I hope you’ve all had a wonderful week.
It’s been a busy one for me with the launch of this Substack on Monday, first podcast released on Tuesday, felt very overwhelmed on Wednesday, Meditation Teacher Training on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, FUTURE MOOD on Sunday.
Phewwww!
Back in March, I was invited by the very lovely & talented Jen Wakefield to be a guest on her new podcast In My Previous Life - a podcast about people who have navigated a big career pivot and moved into a more creative, or purpose-led job.
I was just A BIT nervous for this podcast to come out. When I say I had to PSYCH myself up to listen to it back…but I’ve been so grateful for all your lovely feedback.
Sometimes, on paper, we can have everything we could ever want. Yet we can’t quite shake the feeling that something is not right. We can’t help ask the questions:
Is this all there is? Isn’t there more I could and should be doing?
That's not to deny our immense privilege, but I think the world needs us to ask these questions. To challenge ourselves, but also the systems and structures that are no longer serving us. To question the well-trodden path and ask ourselves if the destination we’re walking towards is actually one we want to arrive at. On both a personal level, and a systemic one.
The work I’ve done over the past year is teaching me that we are not alone in asking these questions. It’s natural to have more questions than answers. The act of asking is what's important.
As Jen says at the start, this is not a rags to riches PR story, but an honest account of my many career twists and turns. I share some of the tools and techniques I’ve learnt along the way that helped me navigate career highs and lows and cultivate a new path that feels more aligned to both my authentic wants and needs, and the impact I’d like to have on the world.
If you’re feeling lost in your career or questioning what’s next, you are not alone and I hope you will find this episode helpful.
This week on my Meditation Teacher Training, one of the other students introduced me to the concept of ‘time-bending’ and it really got me thinking…
What if we could bend time?
Ok hear me out.
What is that idea / goal / passion / project / change that you keep putting off?
The one keeping you up at night.
The one you keep telling yourself:
I’ll do this when…
I have more time
I have more money
I feel less stressed
We postpone our desires to some perceived date in the future. But the conditions we create around them means it’s a future that never arrives.
What if it wasn’t time standing in your way. What if the only thing standing in your way was you?
If you want to make change, there is no time like the present. The things you want may be closer than you think.
Come to FUTURE MOOD on Sunday where we will be exploring our ideas, goals and aspirations in a safe & supportive container.
This isn’t about taking on more than we can handle and creating overwhelm. It’s about clarifying the things that matter to us and then moving forwards with intention. One step at a time.
It will be an afternoon of gentle movement, meditation & momentum, at the beautiful Hwyl Studio in SE ldn. I am obviously biased but I can’t think of a better way to spend a Sunday.
There are a handful of tickets left and I would absolutely love to see you there.
I hope you can join us. 🤍☁️
